This olive wood ring is handcrafted from tungsten carbide with a thin layer of olive wood inlay. The pattern and grain are the natural pattern and grain of the olive wood. Olive trees have to be at least 20 years old to be harvested; it does not hurt the tree or damage its health to harvest it this way. It was a living thing once but is now transformed into something beautiful that will last forever.
Our Olive wood is cut from trees that have been around for thousands of years. The oldest existing specimen is the al-Badawi tree from Al-Walaja near Bethlehem, Israel, believed to be 4000 years old. The olive tree represents peace and symbolises life, strength and fertility with deep roots in ancient Greek traditions and mythology.
The piece of olive wood used for this ring was taken from the Holy Land – Bethlehem, to be exact. The metal ring band is a high-grade tungsten carbide that has been hand polished to bring out its shine. Tungsten rings are the hardest metal rings available, with nothing beating them for hardness or toughness but also eco friendly as well as beautiful and unique. Perfect for an engagement or wedding band, these will last a lifetime.
This wood is 100% natural; each piece may have variations in grain patterns and colouration. Each wood ring comes with a certificate of authenticity/origin. This is an original piece of handmade craftsmanship made by John Whitlock, working entirely by hand. Free ring box and shipping included!
