This is a teacher's wooden ball point pen hand turned by me on a lathe in my own UK workshop. This pen has a high-quality gold-plated trim and uses a mini red refill on one side and black on the other. Ebony wood for the black side and padauk wood for the red side signifies the colour, the centre section is Cherry.
My pens have up to eight coatings of superglue for a high gloss hard durable finish to protect the pen, this finish takes time and skill to apply hence my prices. Other pens may have finishes such as wax or friction polish, these won't give any long-term protection to the pen if they are even used. Natural oils from the skin will stain these other pens.
The wood is placed on my lathe and hand turned to round and shaped. Once shaped it is sanded and polished to 12000 grit using micro mesh for a super hard and durable high gloss finish.
Other refills are available are available from Amazon or me.
All my wooden ball point pens come in a presentation box. As every piece of wood is different in grain and figure even within the same larger piece these wood ball point pens will make a unique wooden end of term gifts for all those teacher's.
This is one of my stock photos of the original pen, yours will be handcrafted with the same woods although it may differ slightly with grain figure and orientation.
